Polygon Miden is developing the Miden Compiler, which will allow the rollup to support smart contracts written in Rust and potentially other developer-friendly languages in the future. The compiler has two main uses: as a backend for existing languages to target Miden Assembly, and as a tool to compile WebAssembly code to Miden Assembly. The codebase is divided into Miden HIR, a Wasm frontend, and the midenc command-line tool. The pipeline of the compiler consists of converting programs compiled to .wasm to HIR and then compiling them to Miden Assembly.

The final mint for the Validator Spotlight Season 1 NFTs has been announced, with an extra supply of 100 for each NFT. The links for the NFTs will be announced by the validators on December 25th. Happy holidays!

Polygon Miden is a novel ZK rollup optimized for privacy, parallelization, and client-side proving capabilities. The Miden Node, which has completed a test version, functions by exposing RPC endpoints, verifying user-generated proofs, producing blocks, and updating the state. Transactions in Miden facilitate account state changes and are performed against a single account, enabling parallel execution and asynchronicity. Users have the option to store data publicly or privately, as well as choose who generates the ZK proof. Off-chain storage and client-side proofs enhance privacy and scalability. Miden aims for absolute privacy while addressing the possibility of an experienced observer gaining information.

The ETH India Global Hackathon recently announced the winners in the DeFi and zkEVM categories. Some of the winners include Descrownomics, ZenPay, PROJECT A.N.T.H.E.M., TokenKrafters, Graphite, Neper Finance, and Finn. These projects address various challenges in the DeFi space, such as trustless transactions, accessible graph computations, and decentralized stablecoin protocols. Additionally, several projects made innovative use of zkEVM, including ZK Bridge, AllowFlow, ZKFaceRecovery, and zkRizz. The hackathon received hundreds of submissions but only a selected few were chosen as winners.

The Polygon Village Council is an independent body consisting of web3 experts from Polygon Labs and Village ecosystem members. Its purpose is to supervise and focus on the selection process of projects participating in Village Build Ideas and Village Startup Support. The council includes members with expertise in investment, marketing, community strategy, and onboarding high-quality teams.

Polygon PoS recently processed over 16 million transactions in one day, demonstrating the capability and scalability of its network. Inscriptions, which are data stored within transaction notes, have gained mainstream attention with the release of Bitcoin's Taproot Ordinals. These onchain inscriptions provide immutable data and enhance the decentralization and security of the underlying blockchain. The significant number of Ethereum, BNBchain, and Polygon inscriptions recorded by multichain indexer @evmink further highlights the relevance of this technology. The recent technical upgrades to the Polygon PoS network have enabled it to handle these massive transaction volumes with ease.
