The Polygon CDK now offers a simple and clear process for building Ethereum Layer 2 solutions. Implementation Providers (IPs) and Solution Providers (SPs) assist in launching L2 chains by offering Rollup-as-a-Service solutions and crucial infrastructure. The updated SPN platform enables easy discovery and connection with IPs and SPs for a smooth setup of L2 chains.

The Electric Capital Developer Report reveals that Polygon PoS is the second most popular chain for first-time developers, after Ethereum. The report also highlights that 30% of developers are now supporting more than one chain, with Polygon PoS being one of the most cross-pollinated with Ethereum. BlockInvest announces two tokenization initiatives on Polygon PoS, aimed at opening the distressed credit markets in Italy. The initiatives include onchain digital note issuance by 130 Servicing and tokenizing distressed credits secured by real estate mortgages by Davis & Morgan. Tokenization on Polygon PoS is part of a broader movement for disintermediation and ease-of-access. It has already seen institutional adoption with the launch of Libre, a dedicated web3 infrastructure for the distribution of alternative asset funds.

Hypr Network has integrated with Polygon CDK to create a gaming blockchain tech stack that is customizable and suited to the diverse needs of players. Hypr will leverage zero knowledge gaming tools to provide enhanced data privacy and security for gaming applications, including zero knowledge-based gaming SDKs. The team will also contribute to the Polygon CDK open-source stack by developing a multi-backend DA service and expanding the library with functionalities such as shuffling and anonymous transfers.

Polygon Labs has been chosen to be part of the Tokenized Asset Coalition (TAC), which aims to create a more open and transparent financial system. Polygon Labs will contribute to this vision by providing institutional-grade ZK scaling solutions to help bring trillions of dollars worth of assets onto the blockchain.

Polygon has launched the Amoy testnet as a low-stakes environment for building, testing, and experimentation. The Mumbai testnet, which relies on Ethereum's Goerli chain, will be deprecated in Q1 2024, leading to the community consensus to deprecate Mumbai and align with Ethereum. Developers can expect essential validators, infrastructure, faucets, and tooling on the Amoy testnet, which provides a sustainable and future-proof environment.

Polygon has announced the launch of stage 2 of the zkEVM Mainnet Beta. This stage will focus on responsible dApp growth and activation of activity onchain, with new dApp launches expected over the next two months. The Polygon zkEVM client will also be upgraded to increase throughput. Full activation is planned for stage 3 in March, with a major upgrade that removes all limitations on throughput.
