Scroll ZKP, a prominent zero-knowledge proof protocol, has experienced a remarkable 358.6% month-over-month increase in gas consumption on the Ethereum Mainnet, currently ranking 13th among all contracts. This surge in usage comes on the heels of Scroll reaching new milestones, including 500,000 transactions in a single day, a steadily growing number of active addresses, and a rise in stablecoin market cap and total value locked.

The zk research team at Scroll is developing a new zk[E]VM with the potential to be highly performant for real-time proving. The project combines GKR parallelization, smaller field arithmetic, and pay-as-you-go model at the opcode level. While it is still in the early draft stage, the team is seeking contributors excited about GKR based proving systems.

The University of Michigan Blockchain has created a new proposal to initialize cUSDCv3 on Scroll Network. Voting on Proposal 221 will begin in two days.
