Scroll Origins NFT Minting Phase Closing Soon

Scroll, a project focused on Ethereum scalability, has announced that the minting phase for its Scroll Origins NFTs, commemorating the early community of ecosystem builders, will close on March 29th, 2023, at 23:59 UTC. With over 850,000 NFTs minted, the project has expressed gratitude to its builder community for their support since the beginning. The soulbound NFTs will serve as a permanent commemoration of early contributions to the Scroll community. After the deadline, the #scroll-origins-support channel on Discord will be deprecated, and users with questions are advised to submit them before the deadline. Additionally, those who deployed a contract on Scroll mainnet prior to November 9th, 2023, and are still having trouble claiming, must submit their wallet addresses to the whitelist on the Scroll Discord by March 27th, 2023, at 23:59 UTC. Scroll has hinted at new initiatives and plans for the future, as the community continues to grow and advance its mission.

Proposed Metamask Update to Support Fee Structures for Layer 2 Blockchains

A proposal has been made to update Metamask to support separate fee structures for execution and data fees on Layer 2 blockchains like Scroll and Optimism. Currently, Metamask only supports this fee separation for Optimism and Base. The proposed update aims to systematically address this issue for multiple Layer 2 chains simultaneously, allowing transactions on these chains to benefit from reduced data fees introduced by Ethereum Improvement Proposal 4844.
