In Q3, Lido onboarded 2 new Node Operators in LatAm and Africa, while Geth usage decreased by 2.41%. The Q3 data also showed that ~55% of validators are run on bare metal servers, with OVH being the largest provider. In Q4, expect 7 more Node Operators to join, increased operations in LatAm and Africa, and the removal of Jump Crypto from the curated set. Further diversification and decentralization of Node Operators are expected in 2024.

This month, Lido contributors have made several tech developments including Lido's integration with Base, the beta launch of Lido SDK, Holesky's testnet release, a trustless Oracle setup with ZK, and updates to the token integration guide.

In response to a vulnerability, Lido DAO has decided, in collaboration with InfStones and dWallet Labs, to rotate to new keys for all validators as a precautionary measure. There is no evidence of compromised keys, but the ETH from exited validators will be re-staked to available keys in the buffer. Lido DAO contributors recommend discussing the next steps for rotating InfStones validator keys.

Lido's wstETH has launched on Base, becoming the fourth Layer 2 solution for ETH stakers to bridge their wstETH to, following previous launches on Arbitrum, Optimism, and Polygon.

Binance has introduced the new Binance Web3 Wallet, enabling users to easily stake their ETH with Lido and earn daily rewards with a few clicks.

A vote is currently live in Lido DAO to bring wstETH to zkSync Era. If passed, Lido DAO will take ownership of the bridging components.

Total Value Locked (TVL) increased by 7.62% to $15.90b. Net ETH deposits outflow of 35,360 ETH. stETH annual percentage rate (APR) saw growth with a 7-day moving average (MA) at 3.84%. wstETH bridged to Layer 2 increased by 5.12%, reaching a total of 147,011 wstETH.

A bridge has been deployed by @LayerZero_Labs to enable the transfer of wstETH to Avalanche, BNB, and Scroll. However, it is important to note that this bridge is not endorsed by the Lido DAO and has not undergone auditing. Users are advised to exercise caution while interacting with it.
