Upcoming Adjustments to Gitcoin Passport Stamp Offering and Weights
Gitcoin has announced that it will be making adjustments to its Stamp offering and weights for its Passport product next week. The changes aim to better protect the trust and integrity of the communities users are trying to participate in. The update is based on user feedback, product usage data, and analysis of Sybil research from around the industry. The goal is to strike a balance between ease of use for users and effectiveness for partners. The update will include more transaction activity-based Stamps and refined stamp scores. Gitcoin is still recommending a score of 20 as the optimal unique humanity score for Sybil defense, so no one needs to make adjustments to active integrations. Users can publish their Passport to Optimism and LineaBuild ahead of the changes to ensure their current score remains accessible on-chain. Gitcoin is also seeking recommendations for new Stamps that meet criteria such as strong Sybil vs human signal, low cost or free for users, easy to verify, and a strong global user base.
