Gitcoin is transitioning from version 1.0 to 2.0 and introducing new capital allocation methods for different stages of community growth, including direct grants, quadratic funding, quadratic voting, and badgeholder-based allocations. These methods aim to support builders, empower the community, make transparent decisions, and reward impactful projects. By combining these mechanisms, Gitcoin aims to build more robust and resilient communities.

In an effort to honor those affected by cancer, individuals are encouraged to share memories and donate to the round. Participants will have the opportunity to collect an onchain record of all the memories in the form of an NFT.

Gitcoin Grants 19 (#GG19) introduces a revamped donation matching system based on feedback from GG18. The scoring threshold has been lowered, and a new sliding scale for matches has been implemented. Donations with a score of 15 receive a 50% match, and those with a score of 25 or more receive a 100% match. Scores between 15 and 25 have proportional match rates.
