Beam is launching a new contest tomorrow where participants have a chance to earn ECO. All they need is a Beam Name, which are ENS subdomains on Optimism. Participants can register now if they don't already have a Beam Name. Beam Names can be purchased for 600 ECO. To acquire ECO, users can buy USDC in Beam and then swap it for ECO.

Beam is running a 5 ETH funding stream in partnership with buidlguidl to support builders in the onchain payments space. The funding is aimed at products that facilitate onchain payments in the Ethereum ecosystem. This initiative is a way for Beam to pay forward the 5 ETH they recently won from the BuildonBase Nouns Prophouse round. Cohort Streams, introduced by buidlguidl, deliver funds to groups of builders with shared goals. Beam is excited to partner with buidlguidl on this project, as some of their team members started their web3 journey there. This initiative aims to support future developers in the space.

Beam is excited to announce their collaboration with USDV_Money on the Optimism network. By integrating with the stablecoin USDV, Beam aims to reduce costs for their users.

Unlike typical @ensdomains names, there is no renewal fee for Beam Names and they can be owned forever. The price for new Beam Names is expected to rise over time, and renewal fees may be introduced. Reserved premium Beam Names may not be available for purchase. 1-2 character Beam Names are not available currently. $ECO can be purchased on Uniswap and bridged to Optimism for payment.
