Alchemy has announced a partnership with Optimism Superchain to offer web3 developers access to the Superchain Faucet. The faucet allows verified developers to claim 1 testnet ETH on any Superchain network every 24 hours. To gain access, developers need to have an Alchemy account and add their billing information to their account.

Alchemy has launched Alchemy for Startups, a program aimed at helping web3 startups build and scale faster. The program offers credits to accelerate development, 24/7 engineering support, and access to development partners. Web3 startups working on projects can apply to the Alchemy Startup Program.

Alchemy has eliminated fragmentation between the Alchemy SDK and the aa-sdk, allowing access to the full suite of Enhanced APIs directly from the aa-sdk provider. The APIs provide functionality for NFT ownership, spam filtering, metadata, historical transaction activity, real-time event notifications, and user token balances. Additionally, Alchemy has integrated with Magic Labs, offering email and social login, user signatures, and user metadata directly in the Account Kit codebase.

In 2023, a total of 1.7 million ERC-4337 smart accounts were deployed across EVM chains, offering next-gen wallets with features like social login, gas sponsorship, and account recovery. The adoption of smart accounts on Polygon and other Layer 2 solutions stood out due to the affordability of gas. The number of UserOps transactions made by ERC-4337 smart accounts reached 7.4 million by the end of the year. In addition, over $900k of gas expenses were covered by apps, resulting in savings for users. The growth is expected to continue in 2024.

ERC-4337 transactions offer a new way to bring users onchain in seconds with smart accounts, eliminating the need for a seed phrase and gas.

Alchemy has introduced the aa-signers SDK for Account Kit, making it easier to integrate smart accounts into applications. The aa-signers SDK is a TypeScript SDK that simplifies the integration of signers with a unified solution, ergonomic developer experience, and open source availability. Account Kit provides tools for a user-friendly web3 experience and includes account implementation, signer implementation, and infrastructure. It is now possible to integrate with turnkeyhq, magic_labs, Web3Auth, ParticleNtwrk, portal_hq, usecapsule, or FireblocksHQ.

Alchemy has introduced Community Subgraphs, which allow users to query data from commonly used subgraphs or popular protocols without having to create their own subgraph. This provides instant and simplified data access with a 99.9% API SLA and can be accessed through the Alchemy Developer Dashboard. The Community Subgraphs include Ethereum or L2 block data and data from popular protocols such as Uni v3, Compound v3, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and CryptoPunks.
