Sound.xyz, the music NFT platform, is going offline today at 4pm ET. Artists have until then to withdraw remaining funds directly through the platform.

Key Details:

  • Artists can still withdraw after shutdown via Splits
  • The 30-day withdrawal window opened on January 15th
  • Collected NFTs remain safe on-chain with music stored in decentralized storage
  • Collections will remain accessible through wallet-connected platforms like OpenSea

The platform emphasized that proof of support and metadata live permanently on-chain, ensuring artists' work and collectors' contributions aren't lost. Artists experiencing withdrawal issues can contact Sound.xyz directly for assistance.

This marks the end of Sound.xyz's mission to give musicians control over their releases through NFTs, though the underlying blockchain records persist.
