Sound has completed the distribution of their Optimism Retro Funding Round 4 grant to 275 artists, covering all gas fees. The distribution methodology included:
- Considered mints between Oct 2023 - May 2024
- Excluded airdrops and transfers
- Allocated based on song splits
- Set max 20,000 OP and min 50 OP per artist
The initiative follows Sound's October announcement of receiving 276K OP tokens, with their commitment to distribute 100% to platform artists. This distribution recognizes the contribution of onchain music creators who helped make the platform successful.
