Sound.​xyz announces transition to maintenance mode starting January 15th.​ Key changes:

  • No new uploads or artist onboarding
  • Existing drops remain accessible
  • Artists can continue withdrawing earnings
  • Fans retain listening and collecting capabilities

The team is shifting focus to Vault (@vaultdotfm), a new platform addressing artist-fan connection challenges.​ Vault features:

  • Upload songs, videos, or images
  • Fan access via email/phone
  • Artist analytics and engagement tools
  • Direct fan communication through text/email

The transition aims to achieve startup focus while preserving Sound's existing value.​ All current functionalities remain operational for existing users.​

Sound Distributes Optimism Grant to 275 Artists

Sound has completed the distribution of their Optimism Retro Funding Round 4 grant to 275 artists, covering all gas fees. The distribution methodology included: - Considered mints between Oct 2023 - May 2024 - Excluded airdrops and transfers - Allocated based on song splits - Set max 20,000 OP and min 50 OP per artist The initiative follows Sound's October announcement of receiving 276K OP tokens, with their commitment to distribute 100% to platform artists. This distribution recognizes the contribution of onchain music creators who helped make the platform successful.
