The SandboxBeta Creator Game Jam crowns Omniscient as winner
The Sandbox Beta Creator Game Jam — held under the theme "Overgrown" with a $7,500 base prize pool and judged live alongside Major Nelson (Larry Hryb) — has announced its winners. 1st Place went to Omniscient by @lifemademe, an AI-identity game where players listen, observe and connect before starting to ask their own questions.
- 2nd Place: Farmadillo by @LeeOccleshaw (farming sim + pinball + tower defense)
- 3rd Place: TERRA RIFT by @RicardoDeZoete (fast-paced shooter with terrain-as-weapon and dinos)
- Bonus winners: Best Movement — Voridra; Most Atmospheric — Reggae Riddim DJ; Best Idea We Want to Steal — Overgrown Ordinance; Most Unexpected Take on Overgrown — Gary: Patient Zero; Hardest to Put Down — Overgrown Royale; Most Ambitious — LIVING DUNGEON
The Sandbox has since spotlighted Voridra by @Ixuraaa, built with The Sandbox Studio, as the Best Movement winner, sharing gameplay footage and a play link. The Jam ran alongside the release of The Sandbox Studio Beta (Engine v14), the lighter, faster engine that introduced unified SceneNodes, first-class Prefabs, an in-editor AI Assistant, and new side-scrolling and 3rd-person action templates en route to the studio's public launch. Winners were revealed in a streamed broadcast with the Sandbox team and Major Nelson.
