The Sandbox launches Studio Beta with Engine v14 and $7,500 Game Jam

The Sandbox has released The Sandbox Studio Beta, its new game engine now lighter and faster with improved performance, alongside broader creator access, tutorials and a dedicated ticketing system.
Under the hood, Engine v14 brings a unified SceneNode system, first-class Prefabs, an in-editor AI Assistant, new side-scrolling and 3rd-person action templates, multiplayer improvements and a faster editor.
- A dedicated Beta Game Jam kicked off under the theme "Overgrown" with a $7,500 prize pool; submissions close Sept 11
- The company says it is now "on the road to Public Launch," per its August update

The Sandbox added a featured section to its website that surfaces the latest games created with The Sandbox Studio, making it easier for players to discover and jump into new community creations.
Doopies Line Rider mini-game published in The Sandbox
Creator @RicardoDeZoete built Doopies Line Rider, a small Doodles-inspired version of Line Rider. Players draw a rainbow 2D track that a Doopie rolls, jumps and loops along with real physics, guiding it into a rainbow portal. The Sandbox shared the game as a community creation built with The Sandbox Studio.
The Sandbox reveals Alpha Creator Game Jam winners
The Sandbox announced the results of its Alpha Creator Game Jam, naming five winning community-built games made with The Sandbox Studio:
- 1st: Ricochet Rascals by @RicardoDeZoete — a 3D arena brawler for up to 6 players
- 2nd: Arrrpoon by @LeeOccleshaw — an arcade fishing survival fight
- 3rd: PATCH by @VauxMachina — an action rogue-lite set a century after the Human Era
- 4th: Kindred Planet by @Entenium
- 5th: My Little Marina by @anandjoice18 — a relaxing dock builder

Pocket Skatepark skateboarding game goes live in The Sandbox
Community creator @RicardoDeZoete released Pocket Skatepark, a skateboarding game made with The Sandbox Studio and three.js. Players can explore the park, land tricks, build combos, and try Color Mode, a two-minute mode where you paint as much of the skatepark as possible. It's now playable via the linked page.
Tower of Myths relaunches as pixel-art roguelike in The Sandbox
Tower of Myths is back as a pixel-art roguelike built on The Sandbox's new game engine, playable on both mobile and desktop. The Sandbox highlighted it as an example of what creators have built with The Sandbox Studio during the alpha period.
