Sparkassen launches crypto trading including Polygon's POL
Sparkasse — Germany's savings-bank network, billed as Europe's largest banking network with roughly 50 million retail customers — has begun offering crypto trading in its banking app, with Polygon's POL among the tradable assets, per Polygon's official account. The service, branded "Krypto – powered by Deka", is operated by DekaBank in cooperation with Boerse Stuttgart and lets customers at participating Sparkassen buy, sell, and hold digital assets through the existing Sparkasse app.
- Five assets are initially supported: BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL, and POL.
- The rollout is phased, having started October 19 for customers at participating banks — not yet nationwide — with around 230 savings banks reportedly signaling interest.
- The listing gives POL direct retail distribution through Germany's largest banking group, marking one of the biggest traditional-banking channels for crypto trading in Europe.
