ENSv2 goes live on Ethereum mainnet

ENSv2, the next-generation naming protocol from Ethereum Name Service, is live on Ethereum mainnet, launching alongside an updated ENS App and ENS Explorer. The new system lets each name run its own independent subname registry with multi-party management and customizable subdomain issuance rules.

The launch includes integrations with MetaMask, Safe, and 40+ other ecosystems; MetaMask amplified the news by reposting ENS's announcement.
ENSv2 introduces a layered registry with a more granular permission model, replacing the v1 registrar for new registrations.
