Sonic V2.2 goes live on mainnet
Sonic Labs' V2.2 upgrade is now live on the Sonic mainnet, following its previously scheduled September 22 launch. The release introduces bundled transactions, expanded transaction sponsorship, larger smart contracts, and other network improvements.
- Native bundles let multi-step actions succeed or roll back atomically, with compatible flows allowing single-signature execution; expanded sponsorship lets qualifying activity run without acquiring the S token.
- Contract limits double — deployed code from 24 KiB to 48 KiB and initialization code from 48 KiB to 96 KiB — supported by the Simple Format Virtual Machine (SFVM) with no contract rewrites needed.
For developers this means more control over execution, payment, and logic; for users, fewer signing prompts, easier onboarding, and more reliable multi-step actions.
