XRP Ledger permission-delegation upgrade enters 14-day countdown

The XRP Ledger's permission-delegation upgrade has entered its 14-day activation countdown and could go live October 5. The change lets accounts grant narrowly scoped authority to other accounts — such as making payments or approving customers — without sharing master keys or handing over full control, effectively separating payment and compliance duties.

The upgrade follows the ledger's broader push to improve multi-step payments, including the near-activation Batch V1.1 feature that bundles linked transactions into a single atomic operation.
