President Trump has agreed to the CLARITY Act's revised ethics provision, which requires divestiture for himself, elected officials and judges, and gives state attorneys general the authority to sue to enforce the rules. Trump's sign-off removed the final obstacle to the Senate vote after Digital Chamber CEO Cody Carbone said the market-structure bill could not reach the 60-vote threshold without an ethics deal.
The measure still faces a key procedural vote against a shortened September legislative calendar, with SEC Chair Paul Atkins previously expecting a vote as soon as September 15.
