Sweden's Riksbank revives e-krona push as stablecoins, digital euro loom

Sweden's central bank is calling on lawmakers to reconsider a digital krona, warning that foreign-currency stablecoins and the planned digital euro could erode the krona's role in payments. The Riksbank hasn't taken a position on issuing an e-krona, but it wants legislators to start preparing now, since building one would take at least five years.
