Ripple and Robinhood announced a strategic partnership that brings RLUSD to Robinhood's retail app — available to roughly 28.6 million funded customers before the end of 2026 — and to its institutional platforms. Robinhood will also integrate Ripple Treasury software into its internal operations, and Ripple Prime financing will expand across Bitstamp.
- The move comes despite Robinhood's role as a founding member of the Global Dollar Network, the consortium promoting Paxos's rival USDG; Robinhood gave USDG the default lending role in Robinhood Earn in July and announced no changes, leaving unclear how the two tokens will coexist.
- The companies have said they aim to add perpetual futures trading later this year, and Bitstamp will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for settlement.
- RLUSD, launched in December 2024, has a market cap above $2.5 billion.
