Open USD (OUSD), the stablecoin project backed by Mastercard, Visa and Stripe, went live Wednesday on Ethereum, Solana, Base and Tempo. Issued as an Open Standard token by Stripe's Bridge, with roughly $1 billion in launch liquidity pledged by Coinbase, Mastercard, Stripe and Visa, the coin targets payments, banking, settlement and institutional trading.
Chainlink has been selected as OUSD's official price oracle, providing pricing infrastructure for lending, DEX and derivatives applications built on the token. The launch puts a consortium-owned dollar token directly into a stablecoin market still dominated by USDT and USDC, with initial exchange support including Uniswap, Kraken and Coinbase.
