GoldZip, the issuer behind the Hong Kong Gold Exchange's (HKGX) physical gold-backed token $XGZ, is integrating Chainlink CCIP 2.0 and Midas Labs infrastructure so the token can move across multiple blockchains, announced Oct. 27. Each XGZ token represents a gram of 99.99% physical fine gold held by authorized custodians.
- The integration lets the ERC-20 gold token transfer beyond a single network using Chainlink's cross-chain interoperability protocol and Midas Labs' institutional-grade tokenization infrastructure.
- HKGX, the world's fourth-largest gold trading venue by volume and Hong Kong's sole spot gold and silver exchange, backs the token through its GoldZip subsidiary.
- No details were disclosed on which networks are initially supported, transfer fees or launch timing.
