Crypto groups seek to suspend Illinois digital asset tax as suit moves on

The Crypto Council for Innovation and the Blockchain Association, which sued Illinois over its 0.2% digital asset tax, have now asked a court for a preliminary injunction to suspend the levy while the legal case proceeds. The motion comes a few weeks after the two advocacy groups joined the lawsuit challenging the law, which Illinois approved earlier this year despite industry objections.
