Rocket Pool's Grants & Bounties Management Committee provides funding for projects like the @Rescue_Node to benefit small and independent stakers. The committee aims to make it possible for anyone to be a node operator.

Rocket Pool's protocol DAO has been implementing retroactive public goods funding for a year. The Grants & Bounties Management Committee distributes funds for task/project completion under grants, bounties, and retroactive categories. Over 24,255 $RPL (worth more than $750k) has been awarded for research, analytics, education, development, and administrative work. Interested individuals can browse open bounties on the Rocket Pool website and join the GMC on Discord.

The Smartnode has been updated to v1.11.1, which includes multiple client upgrades and new features. This version is recommended for all Node Operators, as it also offers improved support for the @Rescue_Node.

Rocket Pool has created the Smoothing Pool as part of their liquid staking technology advancements. Node Operators can swap volatile Execution Layer rewards for a more stable stream every 28 days. By sending rewards to the pool, NOs receive a share of the total earned by all contributors, which is based on performance. Around 75% of nodes have already joined. There is no fee to use Rocket Pool's Smoothing Pool, providing extra protection against MEV theft.

Rocket Pool encourages Node Operators to switch to a minority client to improve Ethereum's resilience and avoid finality penalties. They provide helpful tips and support for making the switch.

Rocket Pool has launched a brand new website filled with more protocol information. The website also features dark and light mode options and will be rolled out gradually in the coming days.
