Lens Protocol has announced the introduction of creator licenses for collectible social content on the Hey.xyz platform. Creators can now choose from three license types - CC0, commercial use, and personal use - to set terms for ownership, usage control, attribution, and revenue sharing of their social content. This initial implementation through the v2 protocol metadata update establishes on-chain licensing standards across the Lens ecosystem. Lens Protocol announced that they have tracked 800 developer grant submissions by builder teams over the last year. The Lens community has initiated a new LIP-9 to address user verification standards and composability on Lens in light of the platform becoming permissionless. Local verification would pertain to application-level verification, such as music apps verifying creators. While both categories would be voluntary, they aim to enhance user experience across the Lens protocol.

Lens Protocol has introduced signless and gasless transactions, allowing users to post and comment without having to sign every time. The feature can be enabled in the settings manager on hey.xyz and in the account menu of the Buttrfly app.
