BSC Implements PBSS to Optimize Node Performance
BSC has adopted PBSS, a path-based storage model, to address the challenges of offline pruning and optimize node performance. PBSS introduces online state pruning, reducing state bloat and improving user experience. It also enhances performance, reducing block import time by approximately 24%. BSC's asynchronous node buffer strategy and adjustments to the trie node cache help ensure efficient block generation and address performance variations. However, challenges like continuous state data expansion remain, and potential solutions like state expiry and increased gas limits are being considered.
