Tachyon (Zcash) testnet release candidate ships
The NU7 poll showed near-universal support for Tachyon, the Zcash scaling upgrade, in February 2026. A first release candidate reached testnet on May 22, 2026, trialing 25-second blocks and doubled Orchard throughput, built by Valar Group, with pruning lowering the hardware bar for running a node.
