Sonic V2.2 network upgrade set for Sept 22
Sonic Labs set an official launch date for its V2.2 network upgrade: September 22. The update delivers the previously outlined coordinated execution, flexible gas sponsorship, and larger smart contracts.
- Native bundles let multi-step actions succeed or roll back atomically, with compatible flows allowing single-signature execution; expanded sponsorship lets qualifying activity run without acquiring the S token, and contract limits double — deployed code from 24 KiB to 48 KiB and initialization code from 48 KiB to 96 KiB — supported by the Simple Format Virtual Machine (SFVM) with no contract rewrites needed.
For developers this means more control over execution, payment, and logic; for users, fewer signing prompts, easier onboarding, and more reliable multi-step actions.
