Ripple prepares XRP Ledger for quantum computing threat

Ripple is working to harden the XRP Ledger against quantum computers ahead of the so-called 'Q-Day,' when sufficiently powerful machines could break the cryptography underpinning digital assets. The effort comes as an Anthropic model last month cut the work needed to break a leading post-quantum signature candidate by a factor of 67 million, and as Bitcoin and Ethereum published their own migration plans this week.

- The push follows rapid advances in AI-assisted cryptanalysis and rival networks' migration roadmaps.
