WormholeWormhole connects BlackRock's $BUIDL across eight chains
Wormhole highlighted that $BUIDL — the tokenized U.S. Treasury fund from BlackRock, tokenized by Securitize — is now connected across Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, Polygon, and Aptos. Wormhole provides the interoperability layer that lets the world's largest asset manager's fund move natively between networks.
- $BUIDL is tokenized by Securitize, with Wormhole as its cross-chain connectivity provider.
- The tweet frames BUIDL's multichain footprint as institutional assets going multichain via Wormhole.
Wormhole
Wormhole Network is a generic message passing protocol connecting high value blockchains together, with applications leveraging the the core messaging layer to facilitate interoperability between ecosystems. Secured by 19 guardians, developers are able to leverage the protocol to send arbitrary data cross-chain including tokens, NFTs, oracle data, governance decisions and more. Recent implementations of Wormhole include the Portal and NFT bridge, allowing for seamless asset transfers across supported chains. Currently connected to Solana, Terra, Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche and Oasis, its design also allows for fast consensus, easily extensible and upgradable design to connect to more chains allows developers to build on top of Wormhole easily.
