USDT0 freezes 440k USDT0 tied to Mercado Bitcoin security incident

USDT0 froze 440,000 USDT0 tied to the security incident at Brazilian exchange Mercado Bitcoin. Co-founder zerolore confirmed the freeze on X, citing the incident Mercado Bitcoin disclosed when it said it had identified and contained a security breach in one of its systems and, as a precaution, suspended deposits and withdrawals.

• Blockchain security firm Hypernative flagged over $40 million in suspicious transfers across roughly ten networks; the exchange said customers suffered no losses and no data was leaked.
• Tether separately froze more than 4.5 million USDT related to the same incident.

The freeze is the latest in a series of stablecoin containment actions following major exchange security breaches, coming days after USDT0 froze 6.18 million USDT0 tied to the Binance exploit.
