Rango adds Sonic and Tron swaps to Edge wallet
Edge wallet users can now swap into and out of Sonic and Tron from the app's Exchange screen, with Rango sourcing and executing the routes. The additions bring the chains served inside Edge to 15 — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Base, Optimism, zkSync, Robinhood, Monad, XRP Ledger, plus Sonic and Tron.
- Rango's Edge integration went live in late 2024; Sonic and Tron are the latest chains added to it
- Tron matters for the large share of USDT held as TRC-20, while Sonic (formerly Fantom) runs its own EVM ecosystem with gas paid in S
- Swaps stay non-custodial and in-wallet, with no separate Rango app or wallet connection needed; Rango notes users should keep some TRX or S for gas
- The swap path, e.g. USDT on TRON to BTC or ETH on Arbitrum, is chosen by Rango comparing routes inside the app
