Optimism runs local-currency payment cycle with toss and KOMSCO in South Korea

Optimism is helping small businesses in South Korea get paid faster and cut transaction fees. toss, the country's largest fintech super app, and KOMSCO (the Korea Minting, Security Printing and ID Card Operating Corporation) ran a full local-currency payment cycle on the Optimism network.

The pilot signals a real-world onchain payment use case: moving prepaid/settlement flows for small merchants and saving on fees compared with traditional rails.
