Moca Chain mainnet goes live for digital identity
Moca Foundation and Moca Network, with parent company Animoca Brands, launched the Moca Chain mainnet on September 29, 2026 — a Layer 1 blockchain built for privacy-preserving digital identity. The network makes identity states auditable while letting users verify credentials without exposing underlying personal data, and it supports verifiable credentials for users, businesses and AI agents, including proving who an AI agent represents and what it is authorized to do.
The launch is paired with the Account Identity Record (AIR) integration layer: businesses can convert existing customer checks into on-chain credentials or accept credentials issued by trusted partners. With a customer's consent, one business can verify a membership credential issued by a partner and use it to determine eligibility for offers or access.
- Moca Chain was first announced in June 2025; over 3.3 million accounts onboarded through AIR ahead of launch
- MOCA is the network's utility and governance token, covering gas, staking and verification fees
- The network went live publicly at the end of September, with mainnet adoption now underway
