LayerZero Research unveils Aerie for post-quantum signature aggregation
LayerZero Research announced Aerie, a system that aggregates post-quantum signatures at high speed. In tests on a MacBook Pro M4 Max without GPU acceleration, it aggregated 32,768 Falcon-512 signatures in 0.65 seconds, and ML-DSA, NIST's standardized default, also runs inside Aerie at high performance.
Aerie is built on Akita, LayerZero's recently announced lattice-based polynomial commitment scheme. The team positioned it as a way for blockchains — which today rely on BLS-style signature aggregation in systems like Ethereum — to prepare for a post-quantum future without sacrificing performance.
