LayerZero Research details structural weaknesses in Poseidon
LayerZero Research published two papers detailing structural weaknesses in Poseidon, one of the most widely used hash functions in zero-knowledge proving systems. Poseidon is used in protocols the Ethereum Foundation has been evaluating for post-quantum signature aggregation, and the findings were submitted to the foundation's Poseidon-related review effort.
The research team linked the work to its broader focus on evaluating the cryptographic primitives the industry relies on today, including its lattice-based Akita commitment scheme for post-quantum security.
