KuCoin reported that DeFi lending has seen a record 32 price-manipulation exploits in 2026 — more than in any full previous year and now roughly 1 in 8 crypto hacks. The post highlights the clearest recent example: an attacker drove a thinly-traded token's price up roughly 100x in 20 minutes and borrowed an estimated $75M from a lending protocol before the manipulation was caught.
The figures come from KuCoin's own analysis shared via its official channel, framing price-manipulation attacks as a growing and outsized share of DeFi security incidents this year.
