The Graph Foundation becomes network operator as all Studio traffic moves onchain
The Graph Foundation is shifting from coordinator to operator and directing all Subgraph Studio traffic to The Graph Network, where Indexers who serve that traffic now earn the rewards. More query volume is coming to the network starting with BNB Chain and Polygon, part of the Foundation's new mandate to grow the network.
- Developers using the Subgraph Studio staging environment on BNB Smart Chain or Polygon are asked to publish their Subgraphs to The Graph Network before October 8th so Indexers can sync them and the Foundation curates automatically for a clean handoff.
- Developers already publishing and querying on The Graph Network need no action — their Subgraphs stay live and keep serving queries.
- The Studio staging environment still runs on a centralized Upgrade Indexer, a remnant of the hosted service, which this initiative phases out.
