Gnosis Chain to become first Ethereum Economic Zone instance in Q1 2027
Gnosis Chain announced it is set to become the first instance of the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) in Q1 2027. The plan, previously approved by GnosisDAO, transitions the chain from a standalone L1 into an EEZ rollup that settles to Ethereum, retiring Gnosis's own validator set.
- First EEZ blocks are targeted for around December 2026/January 2027
- The instance would produce two-second blocks and prove state against Ethereum's block cadence
- Gnosis is now publicly inviting teams interested in launching on the chain to get in touch
