Dtravel is a web app for discovering vacation rentals you can book peer-to-peer with crypto. Built on the Nite Protocol, a decentralized data layer and open standard booking protocol, Dtravel is a DePIN for vacation rentals.
Vacation rental operators can add their listings to the network by creating a free direct booking site or connecting and existing one by simply importing their Airbnb account. Travelers can search the network using a Nite Protocol aggregator called Dtravel Search.
Participants earn $TRVL, Dtravel's native ecosystem token, for contributing value to the network. The TRVL token is used for payments, staking and governance.
Dtravel has added a tool to its host app that scores how well a listing will perform in AI search and then tells hosts exactly what to change. The score measures how much of a listing's site a machine can actually read, and the tool adds the needed tags and makes specific recommendations. It's live now, though most hosts have not opened it yet.
Dtravel is launching a locally-owned Brazilian brand — not Dtravel translated into Portuguese, but a Brazilian host services business that has operated there for years, running on Dtravel's underlying technology. Eric detailed the launch in a video on X.
The Brazilian market gap Dtravel is targeting is payments: a large share of local short-term rental bookings happen over WhatsApp and settle instantly with PIX (bank-to-bank), while the global OTAs are built for a card-based payment stack the country mostly doesn't use. That mismatch is the reason the brand launching there is Brazilian.
Dtravel gave a real update on Saga, its travel-life app: it's an iOS app in alpha and working, and it automatically picks up your trips to build a picture of your travel life. There is no launch date yet because dev resources are currently focused on the host product.
In a note titled 'A New Chapter for Dtravel: Rebuilding Travel Around People,' Eric Pace announced he had stepped into the role of CEO. He outlined a pivot toward an open rewards layer and a community-owned travel network.
Dtravel announced the Nite Protocol, an autonomous, open-source blockchain infrastructure network governed by code. The transition splits the project into the Nite Protocol (infrastructure) and Dtravel (consumer product), and includes a token stabilization plan re-locking 50% of TRVL's total supply.
The TRVL utility token, powering the Dtravel platform, went live on November 26, 2021 and became available on MEXC Global, Bybit, Gate.io, and Polkastarter. The token supports travel, loyalty, governance, and protection functions.
Former Airbnb and Expedia executives joined with Binance-backed Travala.com to launch Dtravel, a decentralized home-sharing platform. The launch was backed by a $5M seed round from Kenetic Capital, Future Perfect Ventures, and other investors.
