The New York Stock Exchange has tapped Broadridge Financial Solutions (BR) to supply onchain governance and digital transfer agency services for its planned tokenized stock platform — helping public companies manage shareholder records, communications and proxy voting as their shares move onto blockchain rails. Investors would be able to vote through digital wallets, brokerages or Broadridge's existing ProxyVote service.
- Broadridge already serves over 10,000 public companies and settles more than $15 trillion in securities trades daily; it also runs the DLX tokenization platform and Distributed Ledger Repo network.
- The firm joins Securitize and tZERO, which were previously named to build and provide transfer agency services for the exchange's upcoming venue.
- The move is part of the NYSE's effort to bring around-the-clock, blockchain-based stock trading to market, as rival Nasdaq also develops its own tokenized securities infrastructure. No launch timeline was disclosed.
