Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade activated on the Sepolia testnet on October 6, raising the block gas limit to 200 million gas — one of the largest capacity increases the network has tested on a live testnet. The rehearsal raised the processing budget more than threefold, though sampled blocks used less than half that allowance. A key validator client pushed a last-minute patch hours before the test to clear the way for the deployment.
