The crypto industry's three biggest campaign committees spent roughly $170 million in the 2026 U.S. midterm congressional cycle, directing most of it toward Republicans even as polling and online prediction markets put Democrats at a high chance of gaining power in Congress.
- Fairshake and its affiliates devoted $154 million to favored candidates, per a spokesman, and still hold a $56 million reserve for the next cycle.
- The Winklevoss-backed Digital Freedom Fund committed more than $8 million in October to stop Democratic Senate challengers in Ohio, Texas and Iowa.
- The Fellowship Fund — funded by Cantor Fitzgerald and closely tied to Tether — gave $3.8 million to Republican candidates earlier in the year, including Ken Paxton in Texas, then added final endorsements for three Democratic incumbents worth $600,000, half going to New York's Ritchie Torres.
All three PACs favored Republicans more than Democrats; only the Digital Freedom Fund is a single-party push. The totals exclude smaller donations and undisclosed dark money, and cover advertising, mailers and texts run independently of candidates' own campaigns.
