Lead Bank said it has made stablecoins an integral part of its banking infrastructure platform, adding USD-to-USDC on-ramps that let customers convert dollars and pay out to wallets almost anywhere in the world, alongside off-ramps and new cross-border payout options. The Kansas City-based community bank positioned the move as ahead of most banks, which it says haven't yet begun integrating stablecoins into their offerings.
Circle reposted the announcement, spotlighting a traditional bank putting USDC at the core of its banking infrastructure. The development follows Lead Bank's earlier participation as one of the first US institutions settling with Visa in USDC.
