Chainlink to connect banks to Swift's blockchain ledger
Chainlink announced it is working to enable financial institutions to connect to Swift's blockchain ledger through the Chainlink platform. Through Chainlink, institutions in Swift's community can read and write to the ledger, supporting tokenized deposits and 24/7 cross-border payments.
- The Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) orchestrates workflows connecting institutions to Swift's ledger via a self-signing model that keeps transaction controls with the institutions

The push builds on a multi-year Chainlink–Swift collaboration on connecting banking infrastructure to blockchain networks, and follows Swift's announcement at Sibos 2025 that it would launch a blockchain-based ledger.
