Chainlink launched CCIP 2.0, the next generation of its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, on September 28. The upgrade lets institutions distribute tokenized assets across blockchains through a single integration while carrying their security, compliance, and risk controls forward without rebuilding per chain. Tempo, the payments-first Layer 1 incubated by Stripe and Paradigm, confirmed CCIP 2.0 is live on its network, letting stablecoin issuers bring assets with their own rules for verification, approvals, and transfers.
Key new capabilities:
Launch partners include AllUnity, AWS, ANZ Bank, Archax, Bottomline, Deutsche Börse Group's Crypto Finance, Fidelity International, Google Cloud, Hastra, Infosys, Lombard, SBI Digital Markets, Sygnum, Taurus, and xStocks. Hastra confirmed its strategic partnership with Chainlink from day one, describing its participation as neutral infrastructure. Lombard has already integrated custom verification into LBTC via the new CCV model. CCIP secures $84B+ in total cross-chain token value.
