Carbon DeFi launches MCP server for AI trading agents
Carbon DeFi launched an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets AI agents create and manage onchain trading strategies programmatically, with Bancor amplifying the announcement. The server exposes 25 tools covering strategy creation, simulation, trading and position management, reads live protocol state rather than static docs, and works across Ethereum, Sei, Celo, COTI and TAC.
- Prompts become explicit onchain terms — price, range, budget, direction — with agents returning unsigned transactions so they never hold funds or keys.
- Setup instructions and sample code are in the AI Agents & MCP Server docs, including a Claude Desktop config.
- The MCP is flagged experimental and still being developed.
The launch is part of Carbon's push to make its automated trading strategies directly accessible to AI agents; a demo shows an agent calling MCP tools to prepare an unsigned strategy card.
