BIP-929 vote on official Balancer fork is live
BIP-929, from @maxyz_xyz, is live as a Snapshot Yes/No vote on launching an official fork of Balancer as a new protocol. Pools keep running with no pause before Q2 2027, leaving time to migrate, and liquidity, contributors, partners and IP could move to the fork.
Balancer stressed the two votes are independent — both can pass, both can fail, or one without the other. They conflict on only one point: BIP-928 moves pools to withdrawals-only starting October 30, while BIP-929 holds off any pause until later.
