Unlock Protocol has announced the discontinuation of its liquid staking service for veMAV (unkMAV). Key points:
- New MAV locks and relocks are indefinitely paused
- Existing users can claim their MAV after 4-year lock period
- UNK token launch cancelled due to lack of utility
- All user funds remain secure in Maverick locking contract
- veMAV holdings await standard release schedule
The protocol confirms that user assets are safe and will be accessible once the standard veMAV unlock period completes.
Unlock built on top of Maverick with it's liquid staking for veMAV called unkMAV. Unfortunately the protocol has to be wound down. This means the ability to lock MAV and relocks of existing MAV are indefinitely paused. Users will be able to claim their MAV on unlock in 4 years.
