Current Status

  • Loss quantified and snapshot taken
  • Two post-mortems published
  • Tracing ongoing with SEAL_911

  • Voting open until July 10, 11:00 UTC

Summer.fi Shuts Down After Security Exploit Forces Platform Closure

**Summer.fi is closing its doors after seven years of operation following a security exploit on the Lazy Summer Protocol.** The DeFi platform announced it will wind down operations and sunset its user interface. The decision comes after what the team describes as a "recent exploit" on their Lazy Summer Protocol. **Key details:** - Platform operated for 7 years in the DeFi space - Security breach on Lazy Summer Protocol triggered the shutdown - UI will be sunset as part of the wind-down process - Team thanked users and community supporters This marks a reversal from February 2026, when Summer.fi had announced plans to double down on the Lazy Summer Protocol to make DeFi yield more accessible. The platform previously allowed users to borrow stablecoins, increase crypto exposure through Multiply features, and earn yields across multiple protocols and layers.

Summer.fi Platform Shutting Down Operations

**Summer.fi is closing down** The DeFi platform Summer.fi has announced it will be sunsetting its operations along with its parent Labs company. **What this means:** - The platform that allowed users to borrow, multiply positions, and earn yield across multiple protocols is shutting down - Users should review the [full statement](https://blog.summer.fi/sunsetting-summer-fi-and-the-labs-company/) for details on next steps - This follows a partnership announcement with DeFi Saver earlier this year **Background:** Summer.fi served as a unified interface for DeFi activities across multiple protocols and blockchain layers. The platform focused on providing accessible entry points for capital deployment in decentralized finance. Users should check the official blog post for information about asset management and transition plans.

Summer.fi Extends Vault Rewards 90 Days with Reduced Emissions

Summer.fi has implemented **SIP3.18**, a governance proposal that extends vault reward programs for an additional 90 days while optimizing the incentive structure. **Key Changes:** - Reduced total daily SUMR token emissions - Concentrated rewards on the most active vaults - Improved capital efficiency across the platform The refinement aims to better align incentives with actual vault usage, directing rewards toward areas with the highest user activity rather than spreading them evenly.
